The Malabar Farm Foundation is dedicated to preserving the legacy of author and farmer Louis Bromfield, who demonstrated and popularized practical approaches to sustainable agriculture, encouraging their accessibility, adoption, and use across the United States.
Since its founding, the Foundation has contributed over $2 million to Malabar State Farm Park, funding projects such as the:
- Design and construction of the Visitor Center.
- Purchase of a wheelchair-accessible tour wagon.
- Production of two award-winning film documentaries.
- Restoration and painting of 80 exterior shutters on the Big House.
- Replacement of historically accurate linoleum in the kitchen area.
- Restoration of the three iconic cupolas on Malabar's main farm.
- Installation of security cameras and drainage systems.
- Restoration and conservation of artwork and artifacts in the Big House.
- Installation of a climate-controlled system in the archival area.
- Ownership and management of Louis Bromfield's copyrights for the benefit of Malabar Farm.
