The Malabar Farm Foundation serves to provide funding and resources in support of Malabar Farm State Park. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization funded by donations and staffed by volunteers.

As the only working farm in the Ohio State Park system, Malabar Farm is a showplace as well as the former home of Pulitzer Prize winning author and farmer Louis Bromfield and his family.

The vision of the Malabar Farm Foundation is to assure that Malabar Farm is preserved as a destination for people of all ages and to extend the legacy of Louis Bromfield in the fields of agriculture, conservation, and the arts through education and events.

Since its founding, the Foundation has contributed over $2 million to Malabar State Farm Park, funding projects such as the:

  • Design and construction of the Visitor Center.
  • Purchase of a wheelchair-accessible tour wagon.
  • Production of two award-winning film documentaries.
  • Restoration and painting of 80 exterior shutters on the Big House.
  • Replacement of historically accurate linoleum in the kitchen area.
  • Restoration of the three iconic cupolas on Malabar's main farm.
  • Installation of security cameras and drainage systems.
  • Restoration and conservation of artwork and artifacts in the Big House.
  • Installation of a climate-controlled system in the archival area.
  • Ownership and management of Louis Bromfield's copyrights for the benefit of Malabar Farm.
