The opposite of addiction is connection

In a popular TED Talk, British journalist Johann Hart discussed research demonstrating to value of human connection in recovery.  Starfish Project of Richland County is a grassroots organization that embraces this concept to help individuals gain and sustain recovery from substance abuse disorders.  From helping to find a detox facility or treatment facility to reentry connections, our group makes every effort to help people find what works for them and to assist in overcoming barriers to that recovery.  

We work with local treatment options as well as those out of the area. We provide some transportation or help locate transportation to those facilities. When people are released, we maintain contact to help them build a network of safe, sober connections.

Our support group, When Two Or More, gives friends and family of those struggling a safe and confidential space to share their struggles and concerns with their loved ones.
