After losing my son, Brett, at 26 yrs old to heroin, I am passionate about saving other's lives

$500 goal

After an eight year struggle with heroin, I lost my son, Brett, on April 27, 2015.  He was a smart, athletic, artistic, compassionate young 26 yr old with a great sense of humor.  As his whole family was very close to him, I spent the most time with him.  We once sat and spoke of what was most needed in Mansfield in the way of help for addicts.  He said that there was nothing that was immediate here locally and that was a huge need.  We dreamt about building our own rehab place to accommodate that  need.  He even said "we could call it Brett's House"!!!!  After his funeral which brought many donations for a future foundation to honor Brett, the family has kept the funds waiting for the perfect occasion.  Then I read about New Beginnings and their plan to build another residential facility as well as a new Detox facility!!!!  This was it!!  I attended the ground-breaking and got in touch with the necessary people to present my wish to them.  These wonderful people welcomed me and my story with open arms!  We may be able to fund certain areas in the Detox facility and since Brett was the "designated cook" while he spent time at New Beginnings, the kitchen may be established to honor him!!!  Although I have the funds from the funeral and all of those heartfelt donations, I am asking for help to make a bigger impact on this important project.....and finally make "Brett's House" a reality.  Thank you so very much from our family.
