Taking Root Farms vision is to foster choice and purpose within the community, connecting those with intellectual and development disabilities to partners in the community. When asked who we serve, we can say, “each other.”
TRF will be a farm-focused life skills design day habilitation that offers opportunities for adults with I/DD to become an active, integral part of the community. TRF will offer year-round full-day programming 5 days a week. Guided by the on-site farming staff and determined by individual choice, potential activities include, growing, planting, and harvesting; small animal husbandry; and other educational, recreational, and leisure activities.
To make this dream a reality TRF needs our help. The future of these historically underserved members of our community depends on all of us. Help them experience the sense of belonging and self-worth that should be available to all individuals regardless of their abilities.
