Mansfield In Bloom

America In Bloom-2017 our first year of participation was quite successful, with Mansfield being selected as the only one out of forty participants to earn an Outstanding Achievement.  

Feedback from the AIB judges in the first year of participation was illuminating, helping identify key priorities.  Utilizing this feedback the committee established a steering committee; selected champions for each of the seven judging criteria; and completed a strategic plan.  These steps helped us to enter the 2018 program with a clearer incremental plan to help boost the appearance and quality of life in our community.   

In 2018, the Mansfield in Bloom program received an 8 out of 10-star rating, winning first place in 25,000 to 75,000 population category,  receiving the “Coolest Place for Kids” award and special recognition for its floral displays. 

As we moved into 2019,  the steering committee champions utilized the judge's evaluations from 2017 and 2018 to establish 3-4 projects from each of the seven judging criteria.     

The AIB judges did not come to Mansfield in 2020, but are hoping for bigger plans as we were presented in their symposium in the sky event held in October of 2020.

Funds raised through Richland Gives will assist our volunteers in completing these identified projects.
