This year we are undertaking the completion of a working Blacksmiths and Coopers Shop.

$190

raised by 5 people

$10,000 goal

We are building a Blacksmith's and Cooper's Shop to complement the existing structures (1812 Blockhouse and 1808 Log Cabin)  and to build a small settlement village for preservation of and education of early American life.

We need your support to complete the Blacksmith/Cooper Shop because it will provide an opportunity for the community to learn what life was like, how things were made, and how life was lived in our area in the early 1800s.  It will host demonstrations, workshops, and educational events.   The funds will allow us to complete a stand seam metal or shake/shingle roof  ($5,000) along with building a chimney for the forge ($5,000).

"Keep the rhythm of the bellows; Keep the fire glowing red; Never forget your place good fellow; Never let the coals go dead.

-Michelle Joelle, Poet"

We are active in the community and hope you will partner with us to finish the roof, build the chimney, and bring South Park back to a family friendly atmosphere.  Stop by to see the progress our volunteers have made.

We invite you to follow us on our Facebook page at Richland Early American Center for History.
