The YMCA is the Charity of Choice for so many because every dollar of your donation goes directly toward continuing the programs that have been proven to make a difference in our community. 

In 2022, we provided financial assistance to 284 FAMILIES and 645 CHILDREN because of your generosity. 

When you give to the YMCA of North Central Ohio, you give kids and families in need the opportunity to explore all they can become. 

Your tax-deductible donation will go towards:

Open Doors Scholarships. Which provides subsidized childcare, memberships, and youth programs for families and individuals who cannot afford it.

Y on the Fly. Which provides free offsite fitness and fun for all ages in the areas that need it most outside of our Y.

Safety Around Water. Which teaches children the fundamentals of swimming to prevent the growing number of drowning deaths each year.

YMCA LIVESTRONG Program. Which supports cancer patients and survivors with a free program to boost their mental, physical, and spiritual help with the assistance of our YMCA trainers.

Safety Town. Which provides all of the YMCA of NCO Pre-K children access to two weeks of Safety Town education at our Carpenter location.

Open Doors Recipient Charlene B. shares her story...

" My twins started preschool at the Frans Childcare Center in 2022. We are fortunate enough to have qualified for the scholarship program, which has helped our family tremendously. My husband is able to work less overtime and spend more time with our family. It has lessened the stress of paying our bills every week, and our children are thriving thanks to the scholarship program and the wonderful staff at the YMCA. We are so grateful to be granted the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing school and giving scholarship program. Thank you so much! " Charlene B. 

LIVESTRONG program participant Dave M. shares his story..."The first session was me and all ladies. We had a ball. I made so many friends. I benefited more than I thought I ever could. Each day of the program begins with participants gathering together to talk and update their peers and instructors about what's going on. It's a safe space to discuss a shared struggle while building camaraderie with one another. Exercise follows, following individual plans for each member based on their abilities. It's nice to hear from this group. I never talked to anybody else with cancer. Others try to understand, but they don't have cancer and don't know what it's like. I can take this two ways. I could be sullen, and I could be a jerk. But I made up my mind. There's nothing I can do; I don't even think about it. I'm not gonna worry; I just have to do what the doctors tell me to do, and they've been so good to me." Dave M.
