The New Store -Richland County Childrens Auxiliary

The Richland County Children’s Auxiliary is comprised of 5 Programs:

1. The New Store provides school clothing, accessories and personal hygiene items to students in grades K-8. Students are referred by their principal or guidance counselors based on need. Each student visits our upscale clothing store and shops with the personal attention of a caring volunteer. The New Store anticipates helping 1,200 students this school year.
2. The School Supply Program offers children in need a quality backpack filled with age appropriate contents. This year we prepared 2,100 backpacks to be given away.
3. The Christmas program provides Christmas gifts to 1,000 children age birth - 18, referred by social service caseworkers that identify the neediest children on their caseload. Each child completes an information sheet with their needs and wants, and generous donors “adopt” and shop for that child.
4. The Youse Athletic Program is offered to Kinship families, to help children participate in athletic or other healthy endeavors. Requests have enabled kids to take taekwondo lessons, play basketball, buy track shoes, play flag football, etc.
5. Anthony’s Kids enables children to attend Hidden Hollow camp in the summer. We provide all the supplies needed to participate, as well as transportation. 
6. Go Bags - we support our county's foster children by offering duffel bags & storage totes for children entering foster care or moving between placements.
