Shelby Help Line Ministries

God began Shelby Help Line Ministries in 1978 to help those in need in our little community of Shelby, Ohio. Shelby Christian Outreach was established as a board of Shelby Pastors to oversee the programs and activities at Shelby Help Line Ministries. The ministry gives an opportunity for local church members to volunteer their time and give to those in need. Shelby Help Line Ministries services include Clothing Ministry, Budget Classes, Free Summer Lunches for kids, Community Christmas Program food boxes, School Supplies, Medical Equipment, and Financial Assistance for Utilities. Another Ministry at Shelby Help Line is offering space to other Christian agencies such as Salvation Army, Starfish of Richland County and FISH Food Pantry. Over the years ministries have come and gone as the Lord sees fit and we are excited to see what He has in store in the new building. After breaking ground for the new building in 2014, we were ecstatic to move in January 2022. There is still some work to be completed, but we are getting comfortable here!

Currently we are working on designing our lobby with the help of a volunteer. Before the pandemic our clients would often gather and fellowship while visiting the pantry or clothing ministry, or simply stopping in to say "Hello" and stay for a bit. We are hoping and praying this atmosphere will return and we can offer a place of comfort for just that. There will be coffee available and bible literature. We want to be able to share God's word with all who enter, and build God's Kingdom. Another opportunity is our Community Classroom. This space in the new building will allow for more classes to be held free to our community. We are prayerfully asking God to send those who would like to teach and what those classes will look like based on the needs of God's people. During our transition we are also awaiting a new drive and parking lot to be put in. For years it has been difficult for our clients to find our building, our new drive will allow for easy access from Walnut Street and signage for entrance. There are so many plans to be completed, and yet God has brought us such great mile stones. 

We follow His leading and share the love and grace of our dear savior to our little town.
