Richland Soil and Water Conservation District was named Ohio District of the Year and we are celebrating our 75th Anniversary. Donors like you help us continue to provide a resource for landowners interested in conserving and preserving soil and water health for the current generation as well as future generations.

The mission of Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (Richland SWCD) is to assist the citizens of Richland County to protect and improve the County’s natural resources by providing exceptional educational, planning and technical assistance.

Richland SWCD provides resources and educational programs for a wide range of conservation and education programs and is responsible for soil and water integrity in the County and educates landowners, government agencies and partners on a wide range of natural resource conservation programs.

This year, your donation will allow Richland SWCD to provide rain barrels at a reduced cost to community members. Rain barrels help prevent stormwater runoff, conserve water, and are easy to install.

Volunteers

We rely on volunteers to collect and post data about what's happening in Richland County's eight watersheds. Volunteers are precipitation, lake and stream monitors and they all require equipment, training and orientation. We also have volunteers who assist with office projects and at special events. We are always looking for volunteers and if you are interested in soil and water health, please contact Theresa at 419-747-8685.
