Richland Carrousel Park

RICHLAND CARROUSEL PARK opened as the first new hand-carved carrousel to be built and operated in the United States since the 1930's!  The carrousel is carved in the iconic style of G.A. Dentzel a German immigrant who brought a carousel to America (Philadelphia) in 1860.  Our carrousel was carved here in Mansfield Ohio by Carousel Works and our Stinson Band Organ was made in Bellefontaine Ohio.

After six years of planning and the community contributing 1.25 million dollars to this project, our carrousel opened for riders on August 31, 1991 and during this 2 day celebration 18,000 riders enjoyed this beautiful carrousel located in downtown Mansfield becoming the iconic centerpiece that it remains as today.  We now boast over FIVE MILLION RIDERS! 

The carrousel holds 52 magical figures with 30 horses and a variety of animals that include 4 bears, 4 ostriches, 4 cats, 4 rabbits, a goat, a lion, a tiger. a zebra and a mythical hippocampus!   There are also two sleighs that hold 4 persons each and are wheelchair accessible.

There are 18 scenic hand painted panels by local business Tridico Signs atop the carrousel depicting past and present Mansfield scenes that include:  Malabar Farm, Kingwood Center, Oak Hill Cottage and so much more.

Come and make memories with your family or enjoy the nostalgia of organ music from one of our many rocking chairs.  Did you  know that our carrousel can also run backwards for quite an experience!  

Private rentals are available for almost any event; birthdays, reunions, wedding rehearsal dinners and corporate events to name a few.   Food and adult beverages are also available just give us a call at 419.522.4223 we can answer any questions you may have and book your event.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Richland Carrousel Park is to provide entertainment for people living in our community and beyond, we have hosted visitors worldwide.

The carrousel creates a positive atmosphere for downtown Mansfield, for existing businesses and to attract new business to the Carrousel District.  Richland Carrousel Park is a wholesome family resource for all and is wheelchair accessible.
