Since 1974, Nuhop has been a sanctuary for children with special needs and a hub for experiential learning.  Nuhop was a pioneer in inclusive camp experiences. Over the decades, what began as a summer camp for 27 children has evolved into a year-round learning center that impacts over 13,000 people annually through outdoor education, leadership development, and respite programs.  Nuhop provides a safe, nurturing, dynamic learning environment where people are empowered to succeed.

Our Here and Now

Today, Nuhop is more than just a camp – it’s a community.  We continue to expand our programs, serving children, schools, families, and organizations across Ohio and beyond. With two campuses, Pine and Hemlock (located outside Perrysville and in Butler, respectively), we provide a diverse range of experiences that foster growth, resilience, and a deep connection to nature.  We remain committed to innovation, inclusiveness, and servant leadership, embodying the vision that our founders set in motion more than 50 years ago.

Assuring Our Future

We continue to shape our future with purpose. We’re expanding our reach, enhancing our facilities, and introducing new programs that reflect our commitment to growth and excellence. As environmental stewards and educators, we remain dedicated to empowering individuals of all ages through meaningful experiences in nature.
