Richland Gives 2023

We hope you will celebrate Richland Gives with us November 13th through November 28th.  Last year we were overwhelmed by the financial support of 32 individual donors, with $1,987.00 in donations received!  This year we have bumped our goal up from $2,000 to $5,000!  We realize that is a large goal, but we are dedicated to serve our community and provide additional educational opportunities within the next year!  The great thing about Richland Gives is that all non-profit organizations (NPOs) have the opportunity of winning an additional grant if we have the most donors OR the most money received, doubling the impact of your gift! All donations go toward mental health education and programming for Richland County. Read about our programming below!

About NAMI Richland County

We have grown in our capacity and increased our supportive reach. NAMI Richland County was established in July 2001 and over the years, thousands of family members have been given hope!  NAMI Richland County has educated hundreds of first responders through our Crisis Intervention Team Training, thousands of students have learned how to help themselves and/or a struggling friend, and businesses have been given tools to better support their staff with mental health concerns. Through all the support and advocacy, there is hope! Hope to end the stigma surrounding mental illness and hope to individuals & families all across Ohio!

The best part about NAMI? All of our programming is free of charge! We rely solely on the Mental Health Board, grants, and donations to continue our services.

NAMI Richland County Mission: NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Richland County provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

NAMI Richland County Services

Support Groups:

Connections: Peer-led Support Group: a confidential and safe monthly support group for adults living with a mental health concern.

Family Support Group: a monthly support group for those with a loved one with a mental health concern. We focus on how to advocate and care for our loved ones and how to practice self-care.

Advocacy and Education:

We advocate for family members and those with mental health concerns in many ways including taking phone calls, directing individuals to resources, and advocating at the local hospital, jail, and mental health organizations.

Education is in all we do. This includes our Ending the Silence program for middle and high school students, our NAMI on Campus at the local college campuses and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for first responders.

Family to Family Class:

An 8-week program for families and support persons of individuals with severe mental illness. The course discusses the clinical treatment of brain disorders/mental illnesses and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively.

Because of YOUR support....we may be able to do one more program at a high school and bring hope to a student struggling with depression. YOUR help may allow us to meet with one more business and speak with an employer who did not know how to help an employee struggling with anxiety.  YOUR support can help us hold one more Family-to-Family class and guide a father on how to communicate and encourage his suffering son.

No support goes unnoticed. We THANK YOU because we wouldn't be here without YOU.
