Here we are again!  Around this time every year, we begin reflecting on the year we've had...the highs and lows, the heartbreaks and the happily ever afters. In our 2024 highlight reel, we've seen a record number of cats in our shelter, a drastic dip in dog adoptions, and quite possibly the world's longest "kitten season." But we've also had some really really cool things happen too. Three of our longest term dogs were adopted (each after spending over a year with us), we broke ground on a new catio that will give our resident cats access to fresh air and full length windows, and raised money to provide life-saving surgeries for several deserving animals.

Our commitment to this community and the animals that reside here is unwavering. Our mission is to advocate and compassionately care for the abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in our community until we can find them loving homes. This year proved, once again, that we still have so much work to do.

"Richland Gives." This campaign that runs from November 18th to December 3rd is so important to not only us, but all the amazing non-profits that reside in our county. This campaign showcases the amazingly supportive community that comes together year after year to make a meaningful impact right here in Richland County. And every year, Richland County Foundation generously offers this platform to deserving non-profits like ours to help raise critically needed funds.  We are not affiliated with the Humane Society of the United States, the ASPCA, or the Richland County Dog Warden's Office (which is funded through the county government), and we receive no government assistance.  Our donations come from YOU, our supporters.

This year, Giving Tuesday is on December 3rd - but donations can be made early.  In fact, donations can be made RIGHT NOW.  This campaign will provide much needed assistance to some very deserving animals.

Animals make our lives better. They deserve passionate and committed advocates who work tirelessly to make their lives better too. Thank you for your continued support.  We wish you good health and happiness.
