Furniture Bank of North Central Ohio

A nonprofit organization

Bringing comfort and security to lives while making it feel like home.

❤️ Our Mission and Vision

The Furniture Bank of North Central Ohio exists to provide families and individuals overcoming crisis with the comfort, dignity, and stability that comes from having a furnished home.

By offering gently used furnishings, we help create spaces where people can relax, reflect, and regenerate—so they’re ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow.

Our vision is simple yet powerful: that every individual who needs furniture has access to it. We achieve this by harnessing the generosity of our community—through donations, partnerships with social service agencies and nonprofits, and the goodwill of the public.

❤️ How It Works

Furniture Donations

Community members donate furniture as they downsize, manage estates, send kids off to college, or update their homes.

Pickup & Processing

Community service workers from the Volunteers of America Transitional Reentry Program collect and deliver donated items. We clean and repair them to ensure dignity and usability.

Client Referrals

Social service agencies, churches, and nonprofits refer individuals and families in need.

Furniture Delivery

We deliver directly to households, transforming empty spaces into homes.

❤️ Our Impact

  • Served 991 individuals, including 359 children
  • Provided 811 beds, with 299 Beds for Kids—because sleep matters

❤️ The Need

  • In Richland County 44% of households live at or below the survival cost of living.  That means every month hundreds of households struggle to make ends meet.
  • In the City of Mansfield this rate climbs to 57%.
  • These statistics are not improving; incomes are only modestly increasing while the cost of essential services and items are increasing in the double digits
