To build a peaceful community by providing safety, education and supportive services while empowering survivors and those affected by domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual assault.

A Safe Space to Rebuild Lives

We are The Domestic Violence Shelter, a safe place for people to escape violence in Richland County, Ohio. For 48 years, we have helped survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. We give them shelter, support, and the tools they need to rebuild their lives. Our goal is to create a peaceful community where everyone can heal and grow.  We help survivors—women, men, and children—who are brave enough to leave behind violence and start over. Many come to us with nothing but hope. We give them a safe place to stay, help for their kids, and the comfort of keeping their pets by their side. We walk with them as they rebuild their lives.  

We are building a world where no one has to face abuse alone. A world where everyone has a safe place to heal and grow. By joining us, you are helping to create a future where kindness, safety, and hope replace fear and violence. Together, we can make a difference.

• Emergency Shelter: A safe, temporary home for survivors and their children, complete with food, clothing, and personal essentials.
• Trauma-Informed Support: Case management and advocacy tailored to each survivor’s unique needs.
• Holistic Services: Access to legal advocacy, family development programs, counseling, and resources for long-term stability.
• Children’s Support: Specialized programs to help children process their experiences and find hope for the future.
