The Boy Scouts of America (Scouting America) provides the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training, which helps young people be “Prepared. For Life.®”

 A donation to Scouting America will help mold the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. Scouting America believes, and, through more than a century of experience, understands that helping youth puts us on a path toward a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

 While various activities and youth groups teach basic skills and promote teamwork, Scouting goes beyond that and encourages youth to achieve a deeper appreciation for service to others in their community. Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as individuals. It is communicated to them that those in the Scouting family care about what happens to them, regardless of whether a game is won or lost. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Scouting promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions must be made, peer pressure can be resisted, and the right choices can be made.

Camperships

 Camp. A simple word that captures the essence of the summertime Scouting experience. It's both a verb and a noun. An act and a place. A hope and a memory. Something we look forward to and something we cherish. It's where the pictures in the handbook come to life. The camp experience crystallizes the life lessons that Scouting teaches, and etches them into the minds of youth. By leaving the comfort zone of everyday life for an extended time, youth discover their potential. The outdoor classroom serves to forge leadership skills that will last a lifetime. Camp is where the Scouting adventure comes alive. Camp makes more than memories; camp makes leaders.

Due to family financial hardship, some families will not be able to provide their children the opportunity to participate in a Summer Camping experience. Please support our Campership Fund and help provide a memorable Summer Camping experience for a Scout.

 Registration Assistance

 Each week, over 5,100 youth take part in Scouting activities and programs in our communities. If they all met at the same time and place, the evening news would cover the event every week. But they gather unnoticed, in private homes, in church basements, community centers, and school cafeterias. They take on exciting challenges and explore new skills under the watchful eyes of positive adult role models. In small groups, they all learn the values of Scouting which foster self-reliance, personal responsibility, leadership, and both physical and mental well-being.

The Buckeye Council has established a registration assistance fund to ensure all youth who want to join Scouting are able to experience the positive impact Scouting delivers. By supporting this fund, you are giving youth the chance to experience the life-changing opportunities that Scouting offers—opportunities to grow as leaders, give back to their communities, and build friendships that last a lifetime.
