Who We Are

Catholic Charities makes real the love of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church by serving those, regardless of faith or background, with physical, emotional, or spiritual needs; assisting the neglected and forgotten; respecting and promoting life from conception to natural death; and nurturing and supporting the institution of family.

What We Do

Catholic Charities of Richland County is dedicated to supporting their community by providing basic necessities and services to those in need. These necessities and services include food, rent and mortgage assistance, utility bill assistance, medical bill and prescription cost assistance, case management, and crisis navigation. 

One of the many examples of services we provide to the Richland County community is our Hope Food Pantry. No client of the food pantry leaves empty-handed without both food and the opportunity to speak with a crisis navigator. Our food pantry serves over 500 families each month. In addition to our food pantry, many Richland County residents come to us in need of housing and medical bill assistance. We recognize that in every need there is a deeper-rooted problem that needs to be addressed to live a sustainable life. 

In addition to food and finance assistance, we provide classes to teach those in need how to better prepare for financial difficulty as well as how to best avoid these circumstances in the future. We are a source of knowledge and guidance that goes beyond the physical help we provide. 

How You Can Help

Our Community Emergency Services Fund allows us to flexibly use donations to help those in need throughout Richland County. This year on Giving Tuesday we will come together with our fellow Richland County community members to raise money to help continue the type of support our neighbors need most by supporting this fund. 

Help us keep this fund thriving through a donation to your neighbors in need. $10 could be all that is needed for a friend to be able to obtain their monthly insulin supply. $20 could feed a family of 3 for an entire week. $50 could keep the heat on in an elderly person’s home this winter. $100 could be the last bit a family needs to continue living with a roof over their head. You never know what is going on in your neighbor's home. But when times get tough, we do know. And we strive to help them live a sustainable life through your help.
